Henry County Schools encompasses 53 schools in the Atlanta metro area, serving elementary, middle, and high school students across a mix of suburban and rural communities. The district overall ranks in the 30th percentile statewide with a 2-star rating, though performance varies widely between schools.

The northeastern corridor of the county is a clear regional strength. Ola High School leads the district at the 82nd percentile with a 94.9% graduation rate and 60.7% Algebra I proficiency, while Union Grove High follows at the 70th percentile with the district's lowest chronic absenteeism among traditional high schools (9.7%). Union Grove Middle (74th percentile) and East Lake Elementary (77th percentile) anchor the feeder pattern, with East Lake's 4th-grade math proficiency (70.9%) nearly double the district average. Hampton High shows the most dramatic improvement, jumping 27 percentile points over three years to reach the 63rd percentile, with U.S. History proficiency at 50%.

At the other end, EXCEL Academy faces the steepest challenges with a 51.5% graduation rate and single-digit proficiency across subjects. Eagle's Landing High (13th percentile) and Stockbridge High both exceed 30% chronic absenteeism, correlating with the district's lowest Algebra I scores. Middle schools present the most consistent underperformance—only three of 12 rank above the 40th percentile. Notably, advanced course placement creates a paradox: Austin Road Middle posts 97.2% Algebra I proficiency while only 19.5% of its 6th graders meet grade-level math standards, suggesting a highly selective advanced track. Per-student spending shows no relationship to outcomes—Smith-Barnes Elementary spends the most ($19,788) yet ranks in the 26th percentile, while top-performing East Lake Elementary spends $14,024.
