Effective Date: June 24, 2026  |  Last Updated: July 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Claarware LLC ("Claarware," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit or use SchoolDigger.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you provide. When you create a subscriber account, contact us, or sign up for our products, you may provide your email address and any details you choose to include in messages to us. SchoolDigger uses passwordless ("magic link") sign-in, so we do not store account passwords.
  • Payment information. If you purchase a subscription or other paid product, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects and handles your card and billing details directly; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. We retain limited records such as your customer identifier, subscription status, and transaction history.
  • API account information. If you register for the SchoolDigger API (developer.schooldigger.com), we collect the information needed to issue and manage your API credentials and to monitor usage.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect technical information when you access the Site, including your IP address, browser type and settings, device and operating system information, referring pages, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your requests. This information is recorded in server logs and used to operate, secure, and improve the Site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We and our third-party partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure traffic, and serve and personalize advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the consent tools described below.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the Site; provide the school data, rankings, and other content and services you request; create and manage subscriber and API accounts; process payments and manage subscriptions; respond to your inquiries; monitor and protect the security and integrity of the Site, including detecting and preventing automated abuse, scraping, and fraud; analyze usage so we can improve our content and features; serve and measure advertising; and comply with our legal obligations.

ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS

The Site is monetized in part through display advertising managed by Mediavine, Inc. Mediavine and its advertising partners may collect and process information about your visits to deliver and measure personalized ads. Mediavine also provides the consent management platform used on the Site; where required by law, you will be asked for your advertising and analytics consent preferences, which you can change at any time using the privacy or consent control on the Site. Details of the data Mediavine and its partners collect, and the choices available to you, are described in the "Mediavine Programmatic Advertising" section below. Mediavine's own privacy policy is available at https://www.mediavine.com/privacy-policy/.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect usage information; we operate it in a consent-aware mode that respects your choices. You can learn more about Google's practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tags”) may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. Each internet browser has functionality so that you can block both first and third-party cookies and clear your browser’s cache. The "help" feature of the menu bar on most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to receive notification of new cookies, how to disable existing cookies and how to clear your browser’s cache. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the information at All About Cookies.

Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

  • IP Address
  • Operating System type
  • Operating System version
  • Device Type
  • Language of the website
  • Web browser type
  • Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices to opt-in or opt-out of this data collection, please visit National Advertising Initiative opt out page. You may also visit Digital Advertising Alliance website and Network Advertising Initiative website to learn more information about interest-based advertising. You may download the AppChoices app at Digital Advertising Alliance’s AppChoices app to opt out in connection with mobile apps, or use the platform controls on your mobile device to opt out.

For specific information about Mediavine Partners, the data each collects and their data collection and privacy policies, please visit Mediavine Partners.
