Open Quote I am a parent of 3 children have attended this school. In 2011 when I enrolled my children into Henry County School System, I thought I was doing the best thing for my children when pulling them from a Clayton County School System. On paper Henry had so much to offer. 11 years later and I never thought my now 6th grader would be going through the hateful bullying that is occurring at Stockbridge Middle School. The teachers are doing the best they can, just being a teacher you already know they are being paid less than their worth. the ones that stay after hours to assist children do it free and with the best intentions. The administration is a joke. My daughter was in a fight this year, and when we went up to the school to talk about it, the principle didnt let my child speak one word in, she must like hearing her own voice. I had to advocate for my child in defense mode, because the principle would not give my daughter time to talk. Like she had a place to be, she might have, but she accepted to see us that minute, so why not dedicate us some more time. They know my daughter but lack the skills needed to thoughtfully and passionate to help her. I have never heard from the councilor, who i would assume would have made some sort of attempt to reach out to my daughter or her parents regarding the fight. not to mention the bully that has been happening. which is what started the fight, but because my daughter was sticking up for her self, she got suspended more time that the actual person who was doing the bullying. I wish the principle would have had some sort of anti bully seminar set up twice a year every year., to prevent things like this. Create a group of leaders in each grade team, where kids could reach out to their peers and get guidance. I wish the councilors were more present. I wish bathrooms, halls and common areas were more supervised. the atmospher is just so defensive, they school is more worried about protecting their assets than protecting and guiding children. Henry County is not created equal. Unfortunately, the county has some high-end schools that are central and south of the county where as the schools north of the county are more broken. My other two students who attended this middle school are now in their last year of high school, and if it wasn't because they are very strong minded and didn't fall into the social peers traps of trying to fit in and knew to avoid and ignore ignorant people, they too would have been victim of bullying. This school needs a revamping and reorganization starting with bad teachers(those that only upload assignments and don't teach the material) who have been there for decades probably, to the principle who is so self involved, that she doesn't give children time to talk. Open Quote I am pissed because I have had to go to this school 2 times in the last week because my daughter is getting badly bullied and threatened every day kids are throwing paper at her face and class bullying her at her locker threatening to beat her up and jump her and making fun of her everyday no matter what she wears and telling her to shut up everytime she is asking the teacher a question in homeroom and the only thing her teacher said to deal with the situation was told my daughter to just ignore the kids picking on her instead of taking care of the situation and two times we have spoke with the principal and all they keep saying is we will watch the situation down playing it but everyday my daughter is still coming home telling me things they're doing to her I'm about to go to the Board of Education Close Quote
