Summary

Bradley Technology High is a large comprehensive high school serving about 1,048 students in grades 9–12 on Milwaukee's near south side, at 700 S Fourth St, and is part of the Milwaukee School District. It is the biggest school among the nearby high schools compared here, and one of the larger high schools in the city. Statewide, it ranked 517th of 533 Wisconsin high schools in 2025–2026 (3rd percentile, 0 stars) — a long-running pattern, as it has never risen above the 4th percentile in eleven years of reported data. About 88.2% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

The most encouraging news is graduation. Bradley's rate rose from 66.6% (2020–21) to 78.5% (2024–25), a gain of nearly 12 points while the state moved only about 2.5, and it has topped the district rate (71.5%) every year. Its dropout rate, 3.0%, is lower than the district's 4.0% and has roughly halved since 2021–22. Among nearby schools, Bradley ranks 4th of 9 — behind Carmen High School of Science and Technology South Campus (93.8%), Milwaukee High School of the Arts (90.8%) and Tenor High (82.1%), but well ahead of South Division High (60.6%), Project STAY-Supporting Teachers and Youth (57.5%), South Accelerated Academy (54.5%), Alliance School of Milwaukee (50.0%) and Grandview High (37.0%).

The biggest challenge is attendance: 76.1% of students were chronically absent in 2024–25, more than four times the state rate (17.3%) and well above the district (46.2%). Test proficiency is correspondingly low — 13.64% in Social Studies, 4.97% in English Language Arts, 2.76% in Math and 3.87% in Science, with Social Studies the relative bright spot after a recent jump, while ELA and Science slipped. English Language Learner students are the standout, ranking in the 36th percentile with 2 stars, far above the school's overall standing. Notably, Carmen South serves a higher-poverty population (96.07% free/reduced lunch) yet posts 36.26% ELA, 93.8% graduation and 25.5% absenteeism — showing that Bradley's results are not simply about economics.
