Northridge Elementary is a PK–5 school serving 546 students in Johnstown, Ohio, part of Northridge Local, a district ranked 333rd of 773 in Ohio. The school has held a steady 3-star rating while moving up gradually in statewide rank, from the 54th percentile in 2021–22 to the 60th percentile in 2025–26.

Academically, reading is the standout. In 2025–26, Northridge Elementary scored above the state average in every tested subject and grade, with English language arts the biggest strength: grade 3 ELA 73.4 vs. 63.4 statewide, grade 4 ELA 75.6 vs. 61.8, and grade 5 ELA 77.8 vs. 70.4. Math was also above state, but by narrower margins (+3.7, +1.7 and +1.6 points), and science came in at 66.3 vs. 62.7. Compared with nearby schools, Northridge generally outperforms Newton Elementary School, Utica Elementary School and Par Excellence Academy dba Par Excellence STEM Academy across reading and math. However, higher-performing neighbors such as Johnstown Elementary School, Johnstown Intermediate School, Centerburg Elementary School, Granville Elementary School, Legend Elementary and Hillview Elementary School posted math proficiency 15 to 25 points higher in overlapping grades.

Chronic absenteeism is a genuine success story: it dropped from 24.5% in 2021–22 to 10.3% in 2025–26, below the district figure of 14.7% and better than Hillview (19.0%), Legend (13.9%) and Par Excellence (38.4%). Results for students from low-income families have improved, rising from the 38th to the 58th percentile while the free/reduced lunch rate grew from about 28% to 34%. Staffing has also strengthened, with the student–teacher ratio improving from 18.5 to 16.9. Raising math proficiency and keeping subgroup results steady are the clearest next steps.
