Summary

Northridge High School is a 9–12 school in Johnstown, Ohio, serving 351 students as part of the Northridge Local district. In 2025–2026 it ranked 319 of 795 Ohio high schools — 60th percentile, 3 stars — closely matching its district's standing. That is a partial recovery from a dip to the 54th percentile in 2024–2025, but still below the school's earlier top-quartile years, when it reached the 88th percentile in 2017–2018.

Academically, Northridge beat the state in five of six tested End-of-Course subjects in 2025–2026: American History by 13.0 points, English II by 12.3, Biology by 11.9, Government by 5.9, and Algebra I by 6.0. Geometry is the clear exception at 37.6% proficient — below the state (43.3%) and the district (39.8%), and down for four straight reported years from 49.5%. Compared with nearby high schools, Northridge is stronger than Newark High School and Utica High School, but ranks below Heath High School, New Albany High School, Granville High School, Centerburg High School, Johnstown High School, and Licking Heights High School. It is roughly comparable to Licking Heights in English, history, and biology, but weaker in math.

Graduation is a real strength: 98.1% in 2025–2026, up from 91.4% in 2021–2022, and near the top of the local group. Chronic absenteeism, at 20.6%, has improved from 30.0% and is better than Newark, Johnstown, Licking Heights, Heath, and Utica — but it remains worse than Granville, Centerburg, and New Albany, and above the district rate of 14.7%. Several student groups, including special education and low-income students, fell sharply in 2024–2025 and recovered only partway in 2025–2026. Overall, this is a mid-performing school with strong graduation outcomes, solid humanities and biology results, and mathematics — especially geometry — as its clearest area for growth.
