Summary

Western Hills University High School is a Cincinnati Public Schools alternative-track campus on Cincinnati's west side at 2144 Ferguson Rd, serving grades 8–12 with 1,342 students — among the largest enrollments of the schools it is compared with here. Its most recent numbers show a 67.5% graduation rate, the lowest of any school in that comparison group, and chronic absenteeism of 72.9%, versus 44.6% across the district. Proficiency is below the district in all six End-of-Course subjects, with gaps ranging from 3.2 points in American Government to 18.4 points in English II.

The clearest bright spot is academics, which have climbed three years running. Average End-of-Course proficiency rose from 20.5% (2022–23) to 41.4% (2025–26), and math led the way: Geometry went from 2.4% to 33.0% proficient and Algebra I from 8.5% to 39.0% — roughly halving the school's average gap to the district. Geometry now trails the district by just 3.9 points, the school's smallest gap in any subject. Compared with John J.
