Mount Auburn Preparatory Academy is a K–12 alternative school at 244 Southern Ave in Cincinnati, OH, serving 381 students as its own district. Its graduation rate rebounded to 81.5% in 2025–2026 after falling to 45.5% in 2023–2024, and it is now slightly above the Cincinnati Public Schools figure shown for nearby CPS schools (80.6%). Still, it trails several nearby schools, including Summit Academy School - Cincinnati (90.0%), Oyler School (91.4%), Spencer Center for Gifted and Exceptional Students (100.0%), School For Creative and Performing Arts (100.0%), and Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy (100.0%).

The school's most striking challenge is chronic absenteeism, at 83.5% in 2025–2026 — the highest among nearby schools and nearly double the CPS district rate of 44.6%. Resources may be a constraint. The student-teacher ratio of 21.7 is higher than most nearby schools, and 2018–2019 per-student spending was $8,809, lower than most nearby CPS schools. Results have also swung widely from year to year, which is common in a small K–12 alternative school. Even so, Mount Auburn often outperforms similar non-magnet alternatives such as John J. Gilligan Digital Academy, Western Hills University High School, and Summit Academy in math, ELA, and End-of-Course subjects — despite much higher absenteeism.
