Summary

Wake Forest Elementary is a public elementary school serving grades PK-5 in Wake Forest, North Carolina, with an enrollment of 391 students. The school is part of the Wake County Schools district, which is ranked 60th out of 242 districts in the state and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

While Wake Forest Elementary's academic performance, as measured by proficiency rates on state standardized tests, is generally lower than the district and state averages across grade levels and subject areas, the school's performance varies greatly across different student subgroups. The school's Hispanic and White student subgroups perform better, ranking in the top 50% of North Carolina elementary schools, while the African American and low socioeconomic status student subgroups perform significantly worse, ranking in the bottom 25%. This suggests the school may need to focus on addressing the achievement gap and providing additional support for its underperforming student populations.

The school's statewide ranking has fluctuated over the past several years, ranging from 356th out of 1,440 schools in 2014-2015 to 827th out of 1,502 schools in 2022-2023, and its SchoolDigger rating has also varied, ranging from 4 stars out of 5 in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 to 2 stars out of 5 in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. This declining trend is in contrast to the nearby high-performing schools like Jones Dairy Elementary and Envision Science Academy, which have maintained strong rankings and ratings. Additionally, Wake Forest Elementary has a relatively high percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 35.39% in 2021-2022 to 55.56% in 2022-2023, which may contribute to the school's lower academic performance and could require additional resources and support to address the needs of this student population.

Open Quote I understand there is a Math teacher there who thrives on belittling students rather than encouraging learning. This teacher will pick out certain child(ren) and continuously figuratively dangle him/her in front of the class to actually tell everyone how "stupid" they he/she is. This "teacher" it seems it only teaching children how to BULLY. She CERTAINLY is NOT "encouraging the love of learning"...which I feel teachers are on the front line of the future of our country's successes. To not be able to control herself sufficiently in a classroom indicates she should never ever have started teaching and should absolutely never be allowed to teach again!!! When the Administration of a school allows this to happen all year, year after year, they are CONDONING the action and they too are to blame for the actions. It not only affects the individual child it sends a message to the ENTIRE classroom of students how nasty, prejudiced, out of control, selfish and obnoxious ANY teacher can be. It is a REFLECTION on EVERYONE in academia...including the Administration and even the School Board!!! SHAME SHAME ON EVERY ONE IN THAT SCHOOL - ALL THE TEACHERS ARE CONDONING this too...SHAME!
