Overall, the school currently sits in the middle-to-lower tier of North Carolina elementary schools—ranking in the 35th percentile statewide with 2 stars. But that single ranking hides two very different stories happening inside the same building. The school was once a top-quartile school, ranking in the 73rd–74th percentile in back-to-back years before the pandemic, and it has not yet returned to that level. It now performs more like nearby London Elementary School and King Elementary School, while higher-performing schools like Poplar Springs Elementary School and Stokesdale Elementary, with similar or lower poverty, sit well above it.
