Summary

Ibraham Elementary is a public elementary school located in Winston Salem, North Carolina, serving grades PK-5 with a total enrollment of 345 students. The school is part of the Winston Salem / Forsyth County Schools district, which is ranked 159 out of 242 districts in North Carolina and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Ibraham Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom 10-15% of North Carolina elementary schools over the past several years, with a ranking between 1159 and 1498 out of around 1500 schools. The school has received a 0 or 1 star rating from SchoolDigger for most of the past decade, indicating very poor performance compared to other schools in the state. Ibraham Elementary significantly underperforms the district and state averages in proficiency rates for Math, Reading, and Science across all grade levels, with proficiency rates often in the 20-30% range, compared to 40-60% for the district and state. The school's high poverty rate, with 73.22% to 99.16% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, is likely a contributing factor to its low academic performance.

Interestingly, the nearby schools in the Winston Salem / Forsyth County district, such as Cash Elementary, Cook Literacy Model School, and Kimberley Park Elementary, generally outperform Ibraham Elementary across academic metrics, with higher proficiency rates and better state rankings. This suggests that the challenges faced by Ibraham Elementary may be unique and require a targeted, data-driven approach to school improvement and support.
