One area of concern is the school's performance for certain student subgroups, particularly Hispanic and English Language Learner students, who have struggled to achieve at the same level as their peers. This indicates the need for targeted interventions and support to address these achievement gaps. Overall, Gardner Edgerton High appears to have both strengths and challenges, and the school may benefit from collaborating with higher-performing schools in the area to improve its practices and outcomes for all students.

Open Quote The staff is either the worst or the best. All of the counselors treat the students with very little respect. You’re forced to chose between classes all of the time despite both being important for college. The school has almost triple the amount of Spanish teachers than French (6 versus 1 teacher). Most math teachers are disrespectful or don’t teach, and a few of the science teachers act creepy and treat female students poorly. As a student, I feel scared to go the the counselors and scared to attend a few of my classes due to the teachers. If you’re being threatened or bullied, the counselors offer terrible advice like “don’t talk to them”. My safety was threatened twice by someone threatening to kill me, and the counselors did nothing.

The nurses are extremely nice, the orchestra teacher is awesome, and the French teacher is amazing. There’s a decent variety of classes. Close Quote

Open Quote I'm a junior at GEHS. These three years at this school have been hell. If you're not a jock or a prep then you might as well not even be breathing anymore. The kids are rude, the teachers suck at teaching and honestly they don't even give a fuck if you pass or fail their class. We are basically forced to use chromebooks (which they said was "optional", yet literally in every single one of my classes I had to have one to get it "set up" and start working on it.). So basically they didn't even make it an option (whats the point of going to GEHS if its all going to be online anyways??? might as well just transfer to the alternative school). The food is atrocious. The principal doesn't even talk to the student body. We have so many students that we have to use teacher lounges as classrooms.

In all honesty, this school is a mess. Close Quote
