Summary:

The 29 schools in Palmdale Elementary include 23 elementary schools, five middle schools and one alternative school. Twenty-eight reported 2025–2026 test scores; Palmdale Discovery Center has no scores in the supplied data. Across the schools, average results were 31% in ELA, 20% in math and 18% in science, compared with state figures of 49%, 38% and 36%. The most important takeaway is that results differ sharply by school, and the average school trails the state by about 18 to 19 points in each subject.

Palmdale Academy Charter had the highest all-grades ELA result at 62%, 13 points above the state figure; Los Amigos – Dual Immersion led in math at 39%, nearly matching the state’s 38%. Academy also had the highest science result at 37%. At the other end, Oak Tree Community Day had the lowest ELA and math results, both about 2%; Yellen Learning Center had 0% in science. Grade-level results show additional strengths: Barrel Springs Elementary fifth-graders scored 76% in ELA, 26 points above their state comparison, while Innovations Academy of Palmdale seventh-graders scored 53% in math, 16 points above the state.

Average scores improved from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026 by 2 points in ELA, 2 in math and 3 in science. State results rose by about 0, 1 and 3 points, respectively, so the average-school gap narrowed in ELA and math but widened slightly in science. Improvements were not universal: Innovations gained 11 points in ELA, 12 in math and 10 in science. A school’s performance can also vary by subject: Palmdale Academy’s ELA was 62%, but its math was 13%. Ratios and income measures do not offer a simple guide to results: Innovations has a student–teacher ratio of 28 and 87% free/reduced lunch eligible (sy 2024–2025), yet scored 42% in ELA and 37% in math; Manzanita, with 89% free/reduced lunch eligible (sy 2024–2025), scored 23% and 12% in those subjects. These measures are context, not explanations for a school’s results.
