Mesquite Elementary is a K–5 school in Palmdale, California, serving 582 students in the Palmdale Elementary district. In 2025–26, about 29% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA), 22% in math, and 24% in science, compared with 49%, 38%, and 36% statewide. The most important takeaway is that proficiency remains below California’s in all three subjects.

SchoolDigger’s statewide effectiveness ranking for Hispanic students rose from the 18th percentile in 2023–24 to the 39th in 2025–26, compared with the school’s overall 20th percentile that year. For African American students, the ranking shifted from the 79th percentile in 2023–24 to the 32nd in 2025–26, still above the school’s overall ranking but far below its earlier high.
