Summary

Quail Valley Elementary serves 503 students in kindergarten through grade 5 in Palmdale, within the Palmdale Elementary district. In 2025–2026, its proficiency rates were below California’s in English language arts (ELA), math, and science. The most important takeaway is that math is a relative bright spot, but achievement remains below state levels in every tested subject.

The math gap with the state narrowed by 5 points; ELA’s narrowed by 1, while science’s was essentially unchanged. ELA and science have dipped from their 2024–2025 peaks. SchoolDigger ranked Quail Valley in the 17th percentile statewide and gave it 1 star in 2025–2026; among eight nearby schools with current rankings, only Golden Poppy Elementary ranked lower. Its student-teacher ratio was 25.1 in 2024–2025, and 87% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible that year. SchoolDigger’s ranking for English Language Learner Students fell from the 74th percentile in 2021–2022 to the 1st percentile in 2023–2024, indicating a sharp drop in its relative standing for this group. For Hispanic Students, its 2025–2026 ranking was higher than its overall standing: the 31st percentile versus the 17th.

well i just moved to palmdale i bought a house close to this school because i wanted my kids to walk to and from school. we had to drive in our former schools, wich is why i chosed this area it seem perfect, but when i when to enroll my son to the Palmdale district, i learn that he did not belong to Quail Valley elemenary. I was very upset, becuase our home is just across the street from the school. the school that my son was sent to is almost 2 miles away, Im a single mom and i have to work and i wont be able to take him or pick him up because the school hrs are from 9-1. I will be force to sell my home and move back to the Valley. this is not fair at all.
