Silver Lake Intermediate consistently ranks among the top middle schools in Wisconsin, with a statewide ranking between 48-49 out of 628-641 schools in recent years. The school has maintained a 5-star rating from SchoolDigger for the past three years, indicating excellent academic performance. Its students outperform the state and district averages in the Forward Exam, a standardized test used in Wisconsin, with significantly higher proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science.

While Silver Lake Intermediate outperforms many nearby schools, some other high-performing middle schools in the area, such as Merton Intermediate and North Shore Middle, also demonstrate exceptional performance and are ranked among the top in the state. Silver Lake Intermediate's strong academic outcomes may be attributed to factors like its higher spending per student, lower student-teacher ratio, and the socioeconomic status of its student population, though the school's higher chronic absenteeism rates are an area that could benefit from further attention.

Open Quote I would rate this school as very poor. The principal (seldom available) dances around any concerns you may have about the school (movies shown to students, bullying abuse incidences). It seems the school has a major communications breakdown issue from teachers/parents to principal. There have been many occasions where the principal claimed they never received forms or information sent from parent, especially important info regarding bullying/abuse. This is my third child in that school and it's been a battle with this school each and every time. I like the city/location, but this is the only school that has major issues. Also, keep an eye on movies shown to students as there is no prior review process for movies. Close Quote
