Summary

Camas High School is a large, top-ranked public high school serving over 2,000 students in grades 9-12 within the highly-regarded Camas School District in southwest Washington.

The school consistently delivers elite academic results, ranking 14th out of 438 high schools statewide, with a 94.4% graduation rate and exceptionally strong test scores, particularly in English and Science. It achieves this excellence efficiently, spending less per student than several nearby schools while serving a much larger population. A key strength is its remarkable support for all students, with its programs for Hispanic, Asian, and low-income students ranking in the top 12 statewide. This consistent, high-level performance across a diverse student body sets it apart.

When compared to neighboring schools, the advantage of being in the Camas School District is clear. While the smaller Discovery High School in the same district ranks similarly, other nearby high schools like Union High School, Evergreen High School, and Washougal High School rank significantly lower, highlighting how district quality impacts outcomes. While Camas High excels broadly, it shares a common regional challenge in math scores and has identified Special Education services as an area for focused growth relative to its other outstanding programs.

Open Quote Having moved from a strong school district in the Bay Area we had high expectations. The transition has been extraordinary and my three children have thrived at this school. Certainly a good fit for our family, with a more casual happier learning environment with equal possibly stronger academics to our past school. Close Quote

Open Quote The people with whom I attend this school are some of the most mature people I have ever met. I was initially apprehensive to go to high school because movies had always portrayed it as a center of bullying and haven for the jocks(which I am not). But I can honestly say I have not been bullied at all, nor have I ever witnessed bullying. Close Quote
