Summary

Middletown High School is a public school in Middletown, Rhode Island, serving 523 students in grades 9–12. Its 2024–25 graduation rate was 95%, compared with 86% statewide, 90% in the Middletown district, and 92% across nearby schools with reported rates. That makes graduation the school’s clearest strength, even though its test results generally trail nearby high schools.

In 2025–26, the school scored above the state in every reported test, by 3 to 12 percentage points. Its strongest state comparison was 11th-grade SAT English Language Arts (ELA), at 60% versus 48%; its narrowest was 10th-grade PSAT10 mathematics, at 32% versus 29%. Results were generally close to the district’s, though science was 1 point lower. Compared with eight other nearby 9–12 schools, however, Middletown ranked seventh of nine on each SAT and PSAT10 comparison and fell below their averages in all four: for example, 60% versus 68% in SAT ELA and 28% versus 40% in SAT mathematics. Graduation also improved, from 83% in 2020–21 to 95% in 2024–25.
