The K–6 averages exclude Lincoln Prairie because it serves a wider grade span. Thomas Dooley Elementary School is the strongest all-around K–6 performer: it scored 90% in ELA and 83% in math, leading other K–6 schools by 15 and 14 points, respectively. Fifth-grade science has a different leader: Michael Collins Elementary School scored 73.6%, just ahead of Dooley at 72.6%; Adlai Stevenson Elementary School was lowest at 37%.

Recent trends are mixed: the K–6 ELA average stayed at about 66% from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026 while the state result rose 3 points, and the math average fell 2 points as the state rose 1 point. By contrast, fifth-grade science rose 9 points across the schools, faster than the state’s 7-point increase. School context also varies: in 2024–2025, student–teacher ratios ranged from 7.9 at Anne Fox Elementary School to 15.2 at Campanelli Elementary School; Campanelli still scored 69% in math.
