The five middle schools in Schaumburg CCSD 54 serve 3,413 students across grades 4–8; four serve grades 7–8, while Jane Addams Junior High School serves grades 4–8 and Helen Keller Junior High School serves grades 6–8. In the 2025–2026 results, the schools generally perform above state averages, but there are meaningful differences between them. Most importantly, comparing grades 7 and 8, Margaret Mead Junior High School leads Dwight D. Eisenhower Junior High School by 13 points in math.
Margaret Mead is the strongest overall test-score standout: its all-grade results are 80% in ELA and 61% in math, and it leads in grade 8 ELA, math and science. Eisenhower is at the bottom in all-grade ELA (73%) and math (48%), as well as grade 8 ELA, math and science. On the grade 7–8 averages, Mead’s ELA result is 80% versus Eisenhower’s 73%, a 7-point gap; their math results are 61% versus 48%. Helen Keller also stands out, with the second-highest all-grade ELA (79%) and math (60%). Grade 8 science varies more: Mead leads at 69%, while Robert Frost Junior High School is lowest at 51%, just below the state’s 52%.
Results have risen in math and science overall, but ELA gains have been modest: the five-school average rose 1 point in all-grade ELA, 4 points in math and 9 points in grade 8 science from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026. Keller had especially large gains in science (14 points), while Mead’s ELA result fell 4 points despite remaining the group’s highest. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 statewide rankings place Mead at the 88th percentile and Keller at the 85th; since 2023–2024, Frost’s ranking fell 17 percentile points, while Keller’s was unchanged. As context, free/reduced lunch eligible shares in 2021–2022 ranged from 13% at Mead to 26% at Eisenhower; Keller had 22% and strong results.
