Summary:

The Corona-Norco Unified school district serves a diverse community with 51 schools spanning grades K-12, offering a wide range of performance from some of California's top-ranked institutions to schools facing significant challenges.

Standout high schools include the elite John F. Kennedy High, ranking in the 97th percentile statewide with near-perfect graduation and attendance, and the large, high-performing Eleanor Roosevelt High. At the elementary level, Temescal Valley Elementary is the district's only 5-star elementary school. However, the district also contains schools needing substantial support, such as Orange Grove High and Parkridge Elementary, which rank in the bottom percentiles statewide and struggle with very low proficiency rates and high chronic absenteeism.

Overall, the district outperforms state averages in graduation rates and core subject proficiency, but faces a stark internal achievement gap. Key issues include alarmingly high chronic absenteeism at a few high schools and a dramatic drop in science scores by 12th grade.
