Spokane Virtual Academy is a small alternative public school in Spokane, Washington, serving 247 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 at its East Sprague Avenue location. It is part of Spokane School District, which ranks 118th of 238 Washington districts—about the 50th percentile—and has a three-star rating. The school serves a relatively high-need student population, with 63.97% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch in 2024–25. Its reported per-student spending was $15,633 in 2023–24.

Academic results are mixed but show some recent improvement. In 2025–26, proficiency was 39.23% in English Language Arts, 20.16% in math, and 46.77% in science. Math is the clearest concern: the school’s rate was nearly 20 points below the district and less than half the statewide rate. The school improved in all three tested subjects in the latest year, with the largest gain in science, but it will need sustained progress—particularly in math—to demonstrate a lasting trend. Families should also consider that virtual and alternative programs may have different enrollment, transfer, attendance, and graduation patterns than traditional schools, and several comparison results are suppressed to protect student privacy.
