Summary

Spokane International Academy is a K-12 alternative public school in Spokane, WA, serving 824 students with a notably low student-teacher ratio of about 15 to 1.

The school stands out for its solid academic performance, particularly in math and science where it meets or exceeds state averages. This is noteworthy because over half of its students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, a measure of economic need, and the school performs well compared to other local alternative programs like Deer Park Home Link Program or Spokane Virtual Academy. A key differentiator is its high per-student spending, which is significantly more than nearby alternatives and supports its smaller class sizes.

An interesting comparison is with the Bryant Center, another alternative school in the Spokane School District that achieves strong results with lower funding. This suggests that while Spokane International Academy's resources are a strength, the specific educational model and teaching quality are also crucial factors for student success in an alternative school setting.

Open Quote In my OPINION this is the worst place you want to work for if you are not a teacher. While most administrative people make $50k and up, the bottom feeders make a miserable $1200 a MONTH. I am glad I am in a better place where my worth is valued and make triple the money. Could you support your family on $1200 a month .... in 2021? Don't do this to yourself. They get 1 star because at least SOME of the teachers take pride in what they do. Close Quote
