Glacier Middle School in SeaTac is a public grades 6–8 school serving 803 students in the Highline School District, an urban district serving a relatively high-need community. Glacier is larger than nearby Highline middle schools such as Cascade Middle School, Chinook Middle School, and Sylvester Middle School. In 2024–25, 75.47% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch. The school’s 2025–26 statewide ranking was 509th out of 514 schools, placing it in the 1st percentile.

The most important concern is broad, persistent academic underperformance. In 2025–26, 16.00% of students were proficient in English language arts, 9.49% in math, and 16.14% in science—well below both district and state results.
