Its overall ranking is modest—35th percentile statewide, with a two-star rating—but the school has several meaningful strengths, especially its graduation rate, English language arts performance, and recent improvement in student-teacher ratio.

Graduation is Lakes’ clearest strength: 96.5% of students graduated in 2024–25, compared with 93.6% in the district and 82.6% statewide. In 2025–26, 57.43% of students were proficient in English language arts, above both the district’s 40.88% and the state’s 52.81%. Lakes also compares favorably with the similarly sized and nearby Clover Park High School: Lakes had higher ELA, math, science, and graduation results.
