Mountain Shadows School is a K–6 elementary school in West Jordan serving 595 students in the Jordan District, an area with several nearby elementary schools in both Jordan and Granite districts. This rate was much higher than at stronger nearby schools such as Diamond Ridge School, at 17.7%, and Fox Hills School, at 26.7%. Math and science results have improved since 2023–24, and the school’s ranking has edged upward from its recent low, but performance remains near the bottom statewide. Key priorities appear to be improving attendance, strengthening foundational math, and supporting fifth- and sixth-grade readiness.

The school administration is very unhelpful. All tracks and teachers are chosen by a computer and parents hands are tied. They feel all their teachers are equal and won't let you get your child into a more challenging teacher. In first grade my daughter watches movies at least twice a week that are not educational. Don't bother trying to talk to the principal or vice principal, they're equally unhelpful. Close Quote
