Summary

Salt Lake Academy High School is a small grades 9–12 school in Herriman, Utah, serving 403 students in a suburban area near several much larger high schools in the Jordan District.

The school’s graduation results are a relative strength: 92.9% of students graduated in 2024–25, above Utah’s 89.8% rate, and the dropout rate was lower than the state average. Graduation has remained close to 93% for three consecutive years. However, academic proficiency is much weaker. In 2025–26, fewer than three in 10 students were proficient in any reported English language arts assessment, while mathematics and science results were lower still. Grade 10 proficiency was 27.2% in English, 9.8% in mathematics and 13.0% in science. These results were below those of nearby Mountain Ridge High, Riverton High, Herriman High and Bingham High. Even the similarly sized American Academy of Innovation generally posted stronger high-school test results.

Its smaller size may allow more personal attention, and its 18.8 student-teacher ratio was lower than those of several large nearby schools. Overall, the key question is whether the school can build on solid graduation outcomes while improving attendance, academic mastery—especially in mathematics and science—and daily student engagement.
