Lakeview Academy

Lakeview Academy is a large alternative public school in Saratoga Springs, Utah, serving 1,061 students in grades K–9 near other charter and alternative schools, including Horizon School and Elevated Charter School.

Academic results vary by subject. Science is Lakeview’s clearest strength: about 58.5% of tested students were proficient overall in 2025–26, including 74.2% in sixth grade, and Lakeview exceeded state averages in every tested science grade except eighth. Math was generally competitive, with especially strong ninth-grade results: 54% proficiency compared with 39.4% statewide. Ninth grade was also a bright spot in English language arts (ELA), at 51.3% versus 45.4% statewide. ELA is the main concern, particularly fifth grade (36%), seventh grade (36.3%), and eighth grade (38.2%). Families may want to ask how the school supports reading comprehension and writing during the transition into middle school.

Compared with nearby K–9 alternatives, Lakeview falls in the middle. North Star Academy, Renaissance Academy, and Lincoln Academy generally posted substantially higher ELA, math, and science results, while Lakeview outperformed Providence Hall in many middle-grade and ninth-grade measures and was stronger than Athenian eAcademy academically. Attendance deserves attention: chronic absenteeism was 21.4% in 2024–25, better than some alternatives but well above Lincoln’s 9.4% and North Star’s 16.4%. With a 20.5-to-1 student–teacher ratio and a large enrollment, Lakeview offers scale but may have less staffing flexibility than smaller high-performing competitors.
