Academically, Renaissance stands out as one of the stronger schools in this group. Its 2025–2026 results were above Utah averages in nearly every reported subject and grade. Results have improved since 2023–2024, especially in mathematics, although year-to-year comparisons involve different student groups. The main concern is attendance: chronic absenteeism rose from 14.1% to 24.2%, slightly above Utah’s 23.8% rate. That is higher than at Lincoln Academy and Elevated Charter School, but lower than at Canyon Grove Academy and several other alternatives. Overall, Renaissance offers strong academics, particularly in math and science, with attendance being the most important area to monitor.

I would not recommend this school. We were there for the 2025-26 year.
Academically it was adequate. However, I saw no beginning-of-year assessments. There are no academic advanced elementary options. We have a strong reader and math student and there was no track for our student to stay ahead.
Safety communication failed us when our children were hurt at school. One injury needed urgent care and another injury was a head laceration. I didn't learn about those injuries until after-school pickup and not when they happened. The school doesn't have a nurse and in the incidents we know about received no first aid. School policy says that parents will be called when a student is injured. In our experience this did not happen.
Parent concerns about those failures were not handled well. Meetings about injuries and notification did not result in policies being followed.
Emails went unanswered.
Renaissance had open seats at the start of the year but the best Utah Charter schools do not. That should have been the warning.

I would not recommend this school to ANYONE. They cannot keep a principal and have been through five of them in six years. They hired a CEO 2 1/2 years ago who knows nothing about education. He has a bachelors degree in business and most teachers are more educated than him. The teachers are great, but there is no leadership at the school. The CEO instills fear in the teaching staff. Just look at the staff attrition rate each year. Their entire third grade staff quit last year, the fourth grade staff is all new in the past two years. They comment on how great the world language program is, yet three teachers and the director all quit over the summer. Since the CEO arrived, they have had a 63% attrition rate. WAKE UP SCHOOL BOARD. If you would spend your time fixing what is broken, rather than beefing up your rating on Greatschools.org(as demonstrated by the woman with five kids, two who graduated and the youngest taking Arabic-yes, she is the board president) things would be much better. The staff are hurting, they need leadership and a qualified principal who can relate to kids and build relationships with staff. Just google them for all of the negative politics. Stay away!!
