Whiteoak Junior High School, located at 44 North High Street in the small village of Mowrystown, Ohio, serves roughly 113 students in grades 7 and 8 as part of the Bright Local district, making it by far the smallest school among its nearby peers — about one-fifth the size of Mt Orab Middle School (600 students) and well under half of Fayetteville-Perry Middle School (163). For 2025–2026 it ranked 369th of 1,046 Ohio middle schools — 65th percentile, 3 stars — which puts it about 12 percentile points above the district that contains it, and it is also the only school in its comparison group that does not serve grade 6.
