Richmond Heights High School is a 9–12 school serving 271 students in the Richmond Heights Local district, a small, high-poverty district in the Cleveland area. It ranked 577th of 795 Ohio high schools in 2025–2026 — the 27th percentile, with 1 star — while the district ranked 648th of 773 Ohio districts. That places the school in the bottom third of the state, though it performs similarly to Brush High School and Cleveland Heights High School, and better than Euclid High School, Ginn Academy, Shaw High School and Collinwood High School. It remains far below Beachwood High School and Mayfield High School, which serve much wealthier communities.

Graduation is the school's clearest strength: 95.5% of students graduated in 2025–2026, above Cleveland Heights, Euclid, Ginn, Shaw and Collinwood, and close to Brush. Chronic absenteeism, however, has risen from 26.2% in 2023–2024 to 37.1% in 2025–2026 and is consistently above the district rate — though still much lower than Cleveland Heights, Euclid and Shaw. With only 271 students, a handful of students can noticeably shift percentages from year to year. Class sizes look favorable: the student-teacher ratio of 14.2 is lower than most nearby high schools.

Test results are mixed. Richmond Heights is above the state average in American Government (76.6%) and English II (66.7%, up sharply from 45.9%), but below it in American History, Biology, Geometry and Algebra I. Math is the biggest concern: only 18.9% were proficient in Geometry and 37.0% in Algebra I, below the district's own 44.6% Algebra I rate. Results for students with disabilities stand out well above the school's overall rank, while low-income students performed close to the overall level. After two years at the 33rd–35th percentile, the school slipped to the 27th in 2025–2026; recent progress has stalled, though it remains above its mid-2010s lows.
