Largest: Mayfield High School (1,504), then Mayfield Middle School (896). Elementaries total 1,698: Millridge Elementary School (604), Lander Elementary (506), Mayfield Center Elementary School (468), Gates Mills Elementary School (120). The district ranks 104 of 773 in Ohio, at the 87th percentile with 4 stars.

Gates Mills Elementary School is the top performer: rank 11 of 1,560, 99th percentile, 5 stars, smallest enrollment, lowest student-teacher ratio (12), highest 2018–19 spending ($13,708), and many 2025–26 proficiencies at 95.2 or 100. Millridge Elementary School is also 5 stars, rank 106 (93rd percentile), largest elementary with low absenteeism (7.1).
