As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The principal of this school is the worst I've ever worked with. He does not take his job or his duties seriously. Whether or not he does his job properly depends on whether he likes you or not. His favorites are given all kinds of special considerations. I don't know of a teacher in the building who has any respect for him as a leader. He has no vision for the school beyond some silly fantasy of being the "big man on campus" complete with an adoring throng surrounding him. He is unethical and arrogant. He throws tantrums when he feels like he doesn't get the amount of admiration he thinks he's entitled to. I'm embarrassed to have him as principal. Close Quote

Open Quote I was very disappointed to learn that Mr. Pond had left as River Bend's assistant principal to become a principal at a private school. I was even more upset to learn from my child's teacher that he left because he was run off by Dr. Hart, the principal at River Bend. Mr. Pond was the bright light at River Bend. I was amazed that he knew so many of the students by name, and he interacted with them throughout the day. He was always "there," always visbile and always friendly. Dr. Hart, on the other hand, seemed to resent that and treated him and her teachers very disrespectfully, and does everything she can to avoid interactions with students and parents throughout the day. It's a shame that Mr. Pond had to leave, as he would have made a great Wake County principal. Its even more shameful that we are stuck with Dr. Hart. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
