Lakeville Area Schools is a suburban Minnesota district serving about 11,749 students across 18 schools — 9 elementary, 4 middle, and 5 high schools that include online, alternative, and special-education settings. The district ranks 69th of 458 in Minnesota (85th percentile, 4 stars) and beats the state in all three tested subjects in 2025-2026: math 58.7% vs. 44.9%, reading 59.5% vs. 48.6%, and science 28.6% vs. 25.5%.

Elementary and middle schools post the district's strongest all-grade results. Lakeview Elementary leads all elementaries (math 72.3%, reading 71.7%, science 39.8%; #50 of 869, 5 stars), followed closely by Cherry View Elementary (72.0% math, 69.7% reading, 5 stars in each of the last three years), Lake Marion Elementary, and Highview Elementary, which has the district's lowest free/reduced lunch rate at 11.55% and raised math from 64.48% to 71.7%. Century Middle School is the clear middle-school standout (#33 of 546, 94th percentile, 5 stars), with 8th-grade math at 75.4% and reading at 76.3%. The high schools present a split picture: Lakeville North High (96.6% graduation, 1.3% dropout) and Lakeville South High (95.7%, 0.8%) far exceed district and state graduation rates and beat state benchmarks in 11th-grade math and 10th-grade reading, yet both slipped to 3 stars (#151 and #180 of 473) and trail the state's 35.0% in science.

Science is the district's weakest link in the upper grades — McGuire Middle at 18.2% and Kenwood Trail Middle at 19.6%. Lower-ranked elementaries are trending up, though: Orchard Lake Elementary rose from 2 stars and 37th percentile to 3 stars and 58th percentile. The alternative and online settings — Lakeville Pathways Academy (62.5% graduation, 0% math), Lakeville Online Academy-High, Lakeville Online Academy-Middle, and the 9-student Children's MN - Lakeville, where many scores are suppressed — serve specialized populations and should be judged on their own terms rather than compared directly with comprehensive schools.
