Summary

Garfield Middle School is a public middle school in Revere, Massachusetts, serving 566 students in grades 6-8. The school is part of the Revere school district, which is ranked 292 out of 348 districts in the state and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Garfield Middle School's academic performance is a concern, with proficiency rates in English Language Arts (28.04%), Mathematics (22.9%), and Science (14.2%) significantly below the state averages. The school's statewide ranking has fluctuated between 329 and 382 out of 497-501 middle schools in Massachusetts over the past few years, and its performance is particularly low for certain student subgroups, such as Special Education students. However, the school's demographics are diverse, with a significant percentage of Hispanic (46.8%) and English Language Learner (24.9%) students.

While Garfield Middle School's performance is comparable to nearby schools like Susan B. Anthony Middle School and Rumney Marsh Academy, it lags behind the higher-performing Winthrop Middle School, which is located just 1.72 miles away. The school's consistently low performance, particularly in Science and Mathematics, suggests a need for a comprehensive review of its curriculum, instructional practices, and support systems for struggling students.

Open Quote honestly the school it's self is great and they give us a lot of opportunities, but i just think that student's actions aren't the best. Students have done weird things on school property, but the punishment is reasonable.(sometimes) Close Quote

Open Quote Very unfriendly teachers, what makes this worse is that they aren’t doing their job and teaching students, I feel like my school is pathetic Close Quote
