Walsh Middle is a grades 6-8 school in Framingham, MA, serving 785 students, and it is the strongest of the three Framingham middle schools in this comparison. It ranks 278th of 478 Massachusetts middle schools in 2025-2026 - the 42nd percentile, a 2-star rating - which is well above the 12th-percentile standing of the Framingham district overall. In 2025-2026 MCAS testing, Walsh students were proficient at 30.17% in English language arts, 30.45% in math, 35.81% in science, and 33.49% in civics. All four are below state averages, but all four are above district averages, something no other Framingham middle school manages.

Compared with nearby schools outside Framingham, however, Walsh sits in a much lower performance band. Wilson Middle and J F Kennedy Middle School in Natick, Ephraim Curtis Middle in Sudbury, P Brent Trottier in Southborough, Weston Middle, and Wayland Middle School all rank between the 85th and 98th percentiles, with proficiency rates roughly double Walsh's - for example Wayland's 80.40% in math and Weston's 78.24% in ELA.
