Simon Kenton High School in Independence serves grades 9–12 and enrolls 1,893 students in the Kenton County district. Its 2025–26 KSA results were above the state in all six tested subjects, and its graduation rate was 99%, compared with 94% statewide and nearly the same as the district. The most important local comparison is less even: writing proficiency was 48%, five points below nearby high-school peers’ average.

Math and reading are relative strengths: proficiency was 51% in math and 57% in reading, close to nearby schools’ averages, and 11 and 8 points above the state, respectively.
