Edna Elementary serves 179 students in pre-K through eighth grade in Edna, in southeast Kansas’s Labette County. In 2025–26, its all-grades proficiency rates were above both district and state results in English language arts (58% versus 53% and 46%), math (54% versus 47% and 41%), and science (64% versus 48% and 38%). Chronic absenteeism was also low: 2%, compared with 12% districtwide and 18% statewide. The clearest takeaway is that science is Edna’s strongest subject, with the school leading its same-grade-span Labette County peers.

Compared with four other Labette County schools serving pre-K through eighth grade, Edna ranks second of five in ELA, third in math, and first in science; its science rate is 64%, versus a peer average of 55%. Results vary by grade, however, and fourth grade is the clearest concern: ELA proficiency was 47%, below the state’s 50% and district’s 55%, while math was 32%, below the state’s 44% and district’s 49%. Edna had the lowest fourth-grade math rate among those five district schools; only Community Elementary was lower among nearby schools reporting that grade.
