Wheeler has historically been a strong performer, earning 4-star ratings for most of the past decade. However, the most recent data shows a notable shift: the school has dropped to a 3-star rating and now ranks 160th out of 455 Georgia high schools—its lowest position in ten years. This decline stands out when compared to nearby schools. Within a six-mile radius, Walton High School (ranked 8th), Lassiter High School (15th), and Pope High School (20th) all remain in the top 20. Even Sprayberry High School, which had a similar ranking to Wheeler just two years ago, only fell to 133rd—a much less severe drop.

STEM Magnet Program has been fantastic for my children...teachers are fabulous in all disciplines (not just Math and Science), opportunities to take many science and math courses with block scheduling, students attending Magnet by and large are hard working and very motivated to do well. They are also supportive of fellow students. Seniors in the program complete an Internship in a field of their interest - which is unique and hugely beneficial to the students.
