As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Hindley Elementary school is a warm and inviting environment for my grandchildren to learn. This happens to be more important than school test performance in my opinion.
I am a retired school teacher myself and know that it is essential for each child to feel embraced and seen as an individual. I think this was the unspoken word when I was a teacher. However, I do have concerns for the teachers that work tirelessly at
the demanding academic schedule that they must conform to. As a seasoned teacher I
have seen many teachers "burn out" because of these strict policies. I have nothing but respect for the teachers at Hindley. The students are thriving and it I can only give praise to the teachers. Hopefully they are given the support and care they need to keep up the wonderful work they are doing. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter has attended Hindley from Kindergarten through 4th grade and my son has attended Hindley's pre-K program through 1st grade. They will be in the 5th and 2nd grades, respectively, this September and I can't say enough about this wonderful school. Rita Ferri and Melissa Barber (the principal and asst. principal) are excellent educators and handle issues head-on with decisiveness and compassion. They are always responsive and have made the effort to get to know all of the Hindley families.

My son has an IEP and has participated in a regular ed classroom for the last 2 years. With the special ed reading and writing supports, a well-trained school psychologist, an aide to assist him in the classroom (to stay on task) and language/speech therapy, he has thrived academically and socially. I truly feel the staff always has his best interests at heart.

Another bonus: Hindley has a great music program and offers music classes as part of the curriculum 2 times/week and the option for children to begin playing string instruments in 3rd grade and band instruments in 4th grade.

The parents are very involved in the classrooms and in fund-raising and special event planning for the school.

I would highly recommend Hindley. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
