Despite being a charter school, Omar D Blair consistently underperforms compared to the district and state averages on standardized tests. In the 2024-2025 school year, only 24.9% of students were proficient or better in English Language Arts, compared to 41.9% for the district and 44.8% for the state. In math, only 13.9% of students were proficient or better, compared to 32.9% for the district and 35.9% for the state. The school's performance is particularly low in math, with proficiency rates ranging from 8.3% to 24.5% across grade levels. Additionally, the school struggles to effectively serve its subgroups, ranking in the bottom half or third of Colorado elementary schools for female, male, African American, and Hispanic students.

When comparing Omar D Blair Charter School to nearby Barney Ford Elementary, Lena Archuleta Elementary, and Green Valley Elementary, all of which are traditional public schools in the same district, it becomes clear that the charter school is underperforming. These nearby schools outperform Omar D Blair Charter School on academic measures, despite serving similar student populations. The high rates of chronic absenteeism and dropout at Omar D Blair Charter School may be contributing to the school's poor academic outcomes, and the school's high percentage of economically disadvantaged students could also be a significant factor.
