Coronado High School is a large, comprehensive public high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving 1,279 students in grades 9–12 as part of Colorado Springs School District No. 11. The school currently ranks 170th out of 338 high schools statewide — right at the 50th percentile with a 3-star rating. About 48% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and the student-to-teacher ratio of 23.2 to 1 is among the highest of nearby schools. After a difficult stretch during the pandemic, when it ranked near the bottom quartile, Coronado has stabilized as a solidly mid-tier school.

Academically, Coronado shows a clear split. In reading and writing, students score at or near the state average on the SAT and PSAT, and above the D11 district average. Science is a growing strength, with 31.8% of 11th graders proficient on the state science test, well above both the state (24.8%) and the district (22.1%). The graduation rate of 85.2% matches the state average and far exceeds the district's 76.7%. Test scores only look low on this site because the school was dinged for parent opt-outs. It has the best SAT and PSAT scores in the district and has great academics, sports, clubs, etc. Close Quote
