ZIP code 92675 has 14 schools—six elementary, one middle, five high, and two alternative schools—with grade spans from elementary-only to K–12. The schools’ 2025–26 results vary sharply: among schools with numeric scores, the range was 63 percentage points in ELA, 59 in math, and 59 in science. The most important takeaway is that the area has no single academic profile: results depend greatly on which school a family considers.

San Juan Hills High led in 2025–26 ELA at 74% and science at 62%, respectively 25 and 26 points above the state. Harold Ambuehl Elementary had the highest math score, 59%, 21 points above the state. California Republic Leadership Academy Capistrano also had strong results: 71% in ELA, 54% in math, and 57% in science. At the other end, Capistrano Union High had the lowest numeric score in each subject—12% in ELA, 0% in math, and 3% in science—each 33 to 38 points below the state. Kinoshita Elementary also had low results, at 28% in ELA, 26% in math, and 16% in science.

Across the 11 schools with numeric scores in both years, results moved in different directions: from 2024–25 to 2025–26, the average fell 2 points in ELA and 1 point in science, but rose 2 points in math. Individual changes were larger: CRA gained 17 points in ELA and science, while California Preparatory Academy gained 22 points in math. SchoolDigger’s 2025–26 history gives San Juan Hills five stars and CRA and Ambuehl four stars. Context measures do not explain results, but may help families compare schools: 2024–25 free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 18% at CRA, 35% at Ambuehl, and 91% at Kinoshita. Student-teacher ratios also vary: Capistrano Union High reported 8.6, compared with 22.9 at California Preparatory Academy and 25.8 at CRA.
