Summary

Los Cerritos Middle serves 725 students in grades 6–8 in Thousand Oaks, in the Conejo Valley area of Ventura County. Its 2025–2026 proficiency results are well above California and Conejo Valley Unified in English language arts (ELA), math and science. The most important finding is that Los Cerritos is among the strongest nearby schools: it ranks second of nine comparison schools in all three subjects, behind Medea Creek Middle.

Math is Los Cerritos’ strongest advantage over the state, district and nearby-school averages: 64% of students were proficient, compared with 38% statewide, 56% in the district and about 49% across nearby schools. ELA proficiency was 72%, versus 49% statewide, 66% in the district and about 62% nearby; science was 58%, versus 36%, 54% and about 48%, respectively.
