Summary:

ZIP code 93021 has 11 schools: six elementary, two middle and three high schools, serving students from elementary through high school; ten have 2025–2026 test results, while IvyTech Charter’s latest results are from 2024–2025. Across the ten schools with current results, average proficiency was 61% in ELA, 52% in math and 47% in science, compared with state averages of 49%, 38% and 36%. Eight schools exceeded the state in ELA, all ten in math and nine in science. The clearest overall finding is that school averages are above state results, but performance varies notably from school to school.

The High School at Moorpark College stands out, with 89% in ELA, 68% in math and 76% in science—respectively 18, 29 and 40 points above state results. Its ELA score was 18 points above the next-highest school, Walnut Canyon Elementary, which led elementary schools in ELA and math with 71% and 61%; Arroyo West Elementary led elementary science at 56%. Among middle schools, Mesa Verde Middle scored 59% in ELA and 45% in math, ahead of Chaparral Middle at 55% and 41%; their science results were close, 38% and 38%. At the lower end, Flory Academy of Sciences and Technology had 48% ELA, below state, and 39% math, near state; Peach Hill Academy scored 34% in science, 2 points below state.

Recent trends differ by subject: the ten-school ELA average fell 3 points from the prior year, while math rose 1 point and science rose 4. Individual changes were sharper: Flory’s science result rose 23 points, while Peach Hill’s fell 12; Mountain Meadows Elementary’s ELA fell 10 points. SchoolDigger’s rankings also moved in different directions: Moorpark High rose from the 73rd to the 80th percentile between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026, while Peach Hill fell from the 83rd to the 70th. Context measures do not neatly track results: Walnut Canyon’s student–teacher ratio was 25.5, compared with Mountain Meadows’ 19.7, and their ELA scores were 71% and 49%. Flory reported a 60% free/reduced lunch eligible share in 2024–2025, while the High School at Moorpark College reported 13%; these are observations, not explanations of school results. Schools differ in grade span and enrollment, so comparisons are not between like-sized schools.
