The Moreno Valley Unified district operates 37 schools serving grades K-12, providing education for around 31,000 students in a community facing significant economic challenges.

When comparing schools, North Ridge Elementary and Hidden Springs Elementary stand out as the district's top performers, with state rankings in the 60th percentile and strong test scores. Bear Valley Elementary also performs well despite high poverty rates. At the high school level, Valley View High leads with an exceptional 96.5% graduation rate. In contrast, schools like Edgemont Elementary, Ramona Elementary, and Sunnymead Middle are in the bottom 10th percentile statewide and need substantial support.

Key district findings include a paradox of high graduation rates exceeding the state average despite below-average test scores, and a chronic absenteeism rate (26.6%) much higher than the state's.
