Summary

Neenah High is a public high school serving 1,944 students in grades 9-12 in Neenah, Wisconsin, which is part of the Neenah Joint School District. This high-performing school consistently outperforms the state average in academic metrics, maintaining high graduation rates and low dropout rates.

Neenah High's academic excellence is evident in its students' strong performance on standardized tests, with 10th-graders scoring significantly higher than the Wisconsin average in subjects like Social Studies, English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, Neenah High's 10th-grade students scored 55.77% proficient or better in Social Studies, compared to the state average of 47.67%. The school also boasts high four-year graduation rates, ranging from 90.4% to 96.3% in recent years, well above the state average. Additionally, Neenah High has relatively low chronic absenteeism rates and a student-teacher ratio that is lower than many nearby schools, such as Appleton Technical Academy and West High.

While Neenah High outperforms many nearby schools, some charter schools in the region, like Renaissance School and Valley New School, also demonstrate strong academic performance, particularly in specific subject areas. This suggests that Neenah High faces competition from innovative educational options in the region. Overall, Neenah High's consistent high performance, diverse student population, and efficient use of resources make it a standout educational institution in the area.

Open Quote Can't wait until my children leave NHS. Most teachers are dedicated. However, administration acts like the students (Video of Assistant principal flipping off camera with principal). Downtown administration finds this behavior acceptable. Cliques, bullying and high suicide rate are all a major problem. Much nicer and newer schools to go to in the valley. Close Quote
