As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote We chose Aldo Leopold because we wanted to become part of a school community. We have gotten so much more than we have put in. Our family has been welcomed with open arms!
Our child has been challenged, encouraged, applauded, and held to a high standard of not only academic performance, but social performance. She has had so many hands on learning experiences, and we never worry that we've made a mistake by choosing to send her to Aldo Leopold. She is growing into a thoughtful and investigative person! Open Quote I could not ask for a better learning environment for my child. This school nurtures him as a person, not just a student. He is learning how to be a strong, independent thinker. The amount of dedication the staff here have for their students is astounding. Close Quote

Open Quote They lack quality teachers and administration. Children who fall behind, get left behind to fail, while advanced students continue to be allowed to distract other students and are not given opportunities to be stronger learners. It was by far the worst educational experience of could have imagined. I do not suggest this school. Close Quote

Open Quote Aldo Leopold is an incredible school. They believe in progressive education and experiential learning. Our child is not only learning core classes and subjects, but is also learning how to be a thoughtful citizen, a fighter for social justice, and working to promote peace. They spend time focusing on sustainability and caring for the environment. We moved to this area of town so we could send our child to school here, and would do that again in a heartbeat. Open Quote I attended this school K-8. I am still very close (best friends even) with multiple people I went to school with here more than 15 years later. The family environment allows everyone to be accepted. As for learning, it may not be the right system for everyone but allows children to work at their own pace, whether it be ahead of everyone, a little behind or exactly on target. There are no schools like this in my area, and I would not hesitate to send my child to an Open School so they can form the kinds of relationships I did there when I attended. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
