Lynden High School is a public four-year school for grades 9–12 in the Lynden area of northwest Washington, serving about 1,002 students through the Lynden School District. It offers a strong overall academic profile: in 2025–2026, it ranked 78th out of 396 Washington high schools, placing it in the state’s top 20% and improving substantially from the two previous years.

The school’s clearest strengths are English language arts and science. In 2025–2026, 71.49% of students were proficient in ELA, well above the state rate of 52.81%, while 58.72% were proficient in science, the strongest result among nearby traditional high schools. ELA performance was close to results at Meridian High School and Squalicum High School, and higher than results at Ferndale High School and Nooksack Valley High School. Mathematics is the main academic opportunity: proficiency was 40.43%, below the district and state rates, although it improved by more than 10 percentage points from the prior year.
