Meridian High School is a public school serving grades 9–12 in the Bellingham area, with 534 students. It is part of the Meridian School District and is a medium-sized traditional high school compared with nearby schools. Meridian ranks 93rd of 396 Washington high schools, placing it in the 77th percentile with a four-star rating. This is a notable improvement from the 51st percentile in 2021–22, and the school has remained in the upper quartile statewide for the past three reported years.

Meridian’s clearest academic strength is English Language Arts (ELA). Its 2025–26 proficiency rate was 73.83%, well above the 52.81% statewide rate and higher than Squalicum High School at 71.95% and Ferndale High School at 63.29%.
